The DMM Mantis is a belay device suitable for use with single, half, and twin ropes. Cheaper and lighter than the DMM Pivot, it’s a great choice for beginners, with the same DMM quality, lacking only the option for use in guide-plate mode.
The Pivot gives great control on single ropes from 8.5-11mm, and on half and twin ropes from 7.3-9.2mm.
